filmstar bronze & glow

Many of my close friends will have during the last year noticed my slight addiction, interest and passion for make up. And that may sound very superficial, however I believe make up is not about covering up your face, but rather about enhancing your features and I genuinely love getting ready and putting on make up, purely for the fun of it. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I wear make up every single day. When I worked at the hospital for instance I barely ever wore any make up. I really noticed this 'cause one day my boss saw me and she blurted out that "Oh you look so pretty, make up suits you really well", yupp haha, I started laughing...No but seriously having to wake up before 6 am, like I love getting ready but I'm not going to wake up before 5 am to put on some mascara, besides it is healthy for you skin to breathe once in a while and at the moment I'm battling acne so I figure it couldn't hurt to go all natural once in a while.

Anyway, a text more related to the photographs above. Excuse the tacky filter by the way, the lighting was horrible in my room so I tried to cover it up somehow. The product is called Filmstar Bronze & Glow by Charlotte Tilbury. I have been longing to buy some of her makeup for ages, especially her lipsticks, but haven't been able to get my hands on any. Plus I feel weird ordering makeup online is really risky as the colours might not be right for my skin tone etc. However, that being said, I am a massive fan of bronzers and natural contouring and when I found this product I just had to have it, but it wasn't until after the Golden Globe awards I could bring myself to buy it. I saw it all over instagram and I was like gosh I have to have this, and today it arrived. It costs 49 pounds and you can get it from here Charlotte Tilbury, the shipping was around the 10 pound mark, so it wasn't exactly a cheap purchase, nonetheless I hope it'll be worth it! I can't wait until I get to try it on. Anyways, that's about it for now.

Army of Angels

This is a video that I put together from this year's Lucia experience. Majken Stenberg and I have filmed throughout the season and now that it's all over I edited all night long. Nevertheless, hope you enjoy.

p.s. for those who are unaware, this whole Lucia thing is a charity event that travels around Finland and performs with song to raise money. This year the money goes to vulnerable child families in Finland. All this is operated by Folkhälsan.

While I was in Brno, CZE visiting my friend Nikita I received a very exciting email, although at the time I was a tad too stressed to be overly excited about it. You see I had just finished my med school application and dealt with taking the UKCAT and the BMAT (medical admissions tests) and was finally on a holiday, on a break from all that aaand then I received an invitation for an interview at Plymouth Univeristy to study medicine. So when I got back home I talked to my boss and managed my work so that by the end of November I sat on a plane on my way to London Heathrow. Now how amazing is that. Once I landed in London I took the train to Plymouth and checked in to my hotel there, went for a run, bought my self some dinner and headed back to the hotel to start prep for my interview. Yes, I prepped only the night before. I know terrible terrible decision, BUT just before christmas I got the best email of my life, namely I got a conditional offer to study medicine at Plymouth University! I can't believe, now all I have to do is nail my finals in May(retaking Biology, Chemistry and Maths) and then I'll be moving to England this fall. Fingercrossed. Anyway back to my trip...

After my interview I took the train back to London, checked into my hotel there and made my way to oxford street. Only someone did not inform me of the fact that for the first time ever England had decided to organise a black friday shopping stravaganza. I have seriously never seen so many people at once in so many difference shops and gosh yes in conclusion a lot of people. I did manage to get some shopping done though, mostly make up, what else, haha. Soon the magical and stressful three day so to say vacation ended and there I sat again on a plane back to Helsinki. Hoping that one day I would make that journey back starting my studies. Now I just have to study until I break. Anyway in conclusion London and Plymouth was amazing.

the Czech Republic

A couple weeks ago, more like months by now, I travelled all the way to the Czech Republic to visit my friend Nikita who recently moved there to study medicine!!! Yes I know super cool, she is becoming a doctor! How awesome isn't that? I had a great time there meeting all her friends, seeing the country (with our mini day trip to Prague!!), eating out and partying. Can I just say that in the Czech Republic you can get dinner, drinks and desert and it will cost you ONLY 15€ in a normal restaurant. I was mind blown when we converted the sum into euros, FIFTEEN! Here at home I'd only get some sad pasta with water for 15€...Oh and the weather was okay when I was there, it was perfect running weather and I loved that the place was so hilly, really worked those glutes. Plus the day we travelled to Prague we walked over 17K (thank you IOS8, haha). I liked the Czech Republic, it had its own wibe and the people were a bit special, but once you understand their attitude it in a way becomes admirable. But don't expect people to understand a word of what you say, haha
