Greetings from India!

So as you know I went to this party/chill out thing to my friends place yesterday and it was great! I met up with my gals from school and we haven't seen each other like all summer! Because we've all been so busy, with all kinds of trips and jobs so it was really awesome to meet up with everyone again. Except one girl from our group wasn't there because she's in the Big A right now as an exchange student, you can check out her blog here: Looking Up, it's really good!

So I saw Nikita yesterday who gave me this gorgeous ring all the way from India! She's been there for five weeks this summer! Yeah I know right, I'm so jealous too ;) So now I have one more ring added to my collection. Yay!

I've actually been looking at metallic rings and owl ones so Thank you so much Nikita!! But otherwise today I've mostly been chillin' in my pajamas watching movies. More specifically; Life As We Know It (josh Duhamel: really good looking and Katherine Heigl is such a good actress) and Footloose (the new, haha I'm just listening to the soundtrack all the time). And now I just got back from a 6 km run, so at least I did something good today right?

I managed to get off my ass in the end ;)

I just had to share this song with you guys, it's playing in my head all the time!

Heading Out!

It's been a while, but now I'm finally heading out again! My friend just told me she's having a party so I'll finally get to together with people from school. Jay! Have a fab night!

This picture is from my summer place last week.

Yesterday I was having a bit of motivation trouble with my working out/losing weight thingie. You know those bad days that just appear from out of nowhere and you just feel down. Yesterday was just like that. But somehow I shook it off, because at 21.14 I went out on a 55 min run. It just hit me that I really need this for myself and how much I want this for myself. Jay me!

I haven't really written about it here in my blog yet but I promised that this blog would be real so I want to share my results in this blog and perhaps I'll get support from it. Today this morning I was all pepped and I went out on a 10 km run. It's really weird weather right now, hot and sticky (hot for Finland), so I brought water with me, but not enough. Remember to cover your head and drink a lot of water when you run, because if you don't it will be a lot harder. You'll get headaches and wanna puke. not fun.

I'm gonna try and stay motivated now. Shouldn't be a problem because of the Olympics going on right now. I fell asleep watching the opening ceremony! One moment Honduras was marching in and the next moment the fire was lit... I was super tired!

This pic is from the opening ceremony this week
My goal right now is to run the Helsinki City Marathon 2013. That's the dream. And I so want to fight for it. This may I ran my first half marathon, which took 2h 19min 23 sec. I was proud. It's no great time, but it's still good. Better than my dad's first time and my stepmom's first time ;) So right now I'm training for the Helsinki Midnight Run. It's this 10 km race at night time. So I'm excited. It's a more for fun thing than a serious thing. Some of my friends are also gonna participate and plus i get CAS for it.

Now I just have to stay motivated!

So now that I've written this here, I better do it too!

Livet på lägret. SISTA DELEN

Favorite body part?

I'm gonna have to go with my hands. Weird right? My nails are really strong and they just look nice. :) Plus I love to accessorize my hands. I'm just obsessed with rings! So naturally I have a basket full of nail polish. I love light pink pastel colors so most of them are that. I'm still working on the ring part but I have my fair share of them.

They're all mine, 100% real

Last weekends "get-away"...

... such a fail. Seriously, my best friend Karin Johanna Ingeborg and I, we took the train up to Vaasa (a small city on coast side) to get to my family's summer place. But guess what? I got sick, like sick with meds and stuff. So what was supposed to be a good chill-out-weekend turned into a sad-wannabe-hospital-weekend. But we made the best of it and it actually turned out to be at least a bit fun :)

Karin at the trainstation in Seinäjoki where we had to switch trains.
Later when we got onto the train, that guy you see in the background to the right,
asked if got any good pictures, we got caught of guard and laughed it off

My hair's finally started to grow longer! Jay!

My summer place is like in the middle of nowhere with no running water and the closest mini-market two kilometers away, which isn't that bad actually. Anyway, when we decide to get some chocolate we walked along the road and finally got there the place was closed, because it closed at 17.30 PM. By other means, no chocolate for me...

You know that rule about not wearing Uggs in the summer?
Well yeah, rules are made for breaking right?
and technically I'm nit breaking any rules 'cause their fake
But even though the get-away from the city sort of failed because we fell sick, it was a bit refreshing. I'm not really an outdoor person or a nature person, but I sometimes I enjoy getting away from everything. Plus our place is right by the sea and I love the sea so it's nice to breathe in fresh air...

I bought this bikini this summer from Cubus,
but I sort of regret it because I chose between two
and I think I chose the wrong one...

...and to swim. Well, we had to. Because of the no-water-problem we have at our place we have to wash ourselves in either the sauna or in the sea. and we did both actually. and played with the camera a bit :) and I'm just saying that water is not warm Mediterranean-water, but freezing finnish cold water with small not so pretty fish in it. again, just saying.

Karin and I on the train home
Well, all good things must come to an end so eventually we jumped on the train heading home. And now there's less than three weeks of holiday left. I'm so gonna enjoy every second of it!

Game Day! Germany day 4

This day was so exiting! Dad was finally doing his first and real IRONMAN. For those who aren't familiar with what an Ironman is then I can tell you it's a triathlon where you swim 3.8 km, bike 180.2  km and run 42.2 km.

That morning I was supposed to wake up at 4.45 AM, but of course my alarm on my phone decided to live its on life this particular day. So I almost ended up sleeping in, but fortunately I didn't. I was right there on time in our Hotel lobby at 5.30 am. Too early for you? ;) Dad's start was at 7.00 AM so we had to be there before that. The event had organized busses for the contestants that took them to the lake, which was about 20 km outside of Frankfurt city. We were able to hop on one of the last ones (we meaning me and my stepmom, my brothers would never be caught alive awake at those kind of hours) and a lovely swedish woman noticed that we were speaking swedish so we started talking. Her husband was there for the IRONMAN and it was his second and she and my stepmom bonded over being married to a person obsessed over bikes and that kind of stuff. Me? I just concentrated on keeping my eyes open. Finally we arrived by the lake and at this point I was getting really nervous...

The Lake

Daddy (!) before his 3.8 km swim

I would so not want to be there, too crowded! I took this
Photo just before they began.

The so very cheerful daughter right before the start a.k.a. me

At 6.45 AM the professionals, or the proofies as they called them, began their journey and 15 minutes later it was Dad's turn. After the start I realized that I had to find a perfect spot to take photos from, so I fought myself through the crowd and got to the front line right by the fence.

Over an hour later my Dad came up running that hill and I wouldn't have noticed if my stepmother wouldn't have started shouting "Magnus!". And this was just seconds after the rain had started. After he passed us, we ran to the bike station and got a glimpse of him on the bike as he took off. By now the rain was pouring down and this is the worst weather to go out biking, wind and rain...

Then we left for the busses again, but this time they were super full and there was no seats left for us so we had to stand there soaking wet. And to top it all off, my stepmom's phone stopped working, because it had gotten too much water into it. Finally we arrived at the hotel and after a quick change into dry clothes we headed down for a tired but really good tasting breakfast. After that I just crashed into bed and got a few hours of rest.

Daddy's out of the water with a GREAT time!
After my powernap, we headed down to the river for the last part; the marathon. We didn't follow the bike part because we wouldn't have been able to see much of it anyway. But we still followed his progress online and we noticed that his times weren't updating. This worried me. Alot. I thought he had lost his chip or something and I was afraid that when he'd finish the whole thing they would tell him "sorry, no chip, no nothing".

But in the end there wasn't any problems, thank god. But I was waiting there for him and when I finally  saw him running there I was super proud of him! I shouted "Eitunnu missään!" which is finnish for basically this is going great you don't feel a thing. Can't really translate it :D By now the weather was really nice warm and sunny, but still windy.

"The red carpet is for you"

The marathon by Main had four laps
Each one about 10 km long.

This was my secret project!
I painted the Teams name on some sheets.
Some people even took photos of it.
Haha, I guess it was worth the hard work
Lap after lap, Dad was getting more tired as he rounded us. He was really hurting now. And immediately when he passed us the last time we headed to the goal. First my brothers and I were on the grandstand with shitty places and I was like "nonono, this is not how I roll." I always need the best spot and my brother was all like "you won't get a better place." But stubborn as I was I made my way, once again, to the fence and later my brothers joined me too. So finally when Dad came running on that red carpet we were there all his kids cheering him on the last meters. And after 12 h 37 min and 4 sec he did reach the goal. It was amazing really was. And I was officially Miss Daughter-of-an-Ironman!
Dad minutes after he crossed the finish line.

Afterwards we were so hungry we bought
a german specialty and it was really good!

Frankfurt am Main @ night

When the day was finally over I took a picture of the view from our room, pretty amazing right? This was the day I had been waiting for and it was also partially the reason why I bought my camera last summer, so I good photo my Dad when he accomplished this. It was just a great way of ending the Day. And then? I just fell asleep before I even had the chance to blink.

Germany day 2

On Friday the 6th of July it was time for the huge pasta party! We took the U-bahn to the arena through the city. In Frankfurt they have these poles with two buttons, one SOS button and one INFO button. Of course my little 12-year old brother thought that nothing would happen if he pushed the INFO button. Suddenly a voice starting speaking from the pole asking if we needed any help, in german of course. and my brother turned bright red as a tomato! I was laughing so bad! And when he said, "excuse me it was a mistake",a recorded voice starting speaking. Finally, when we arrived to the arena it was filled with good looking triathletes that were busy eating pasta. So we joined them and after a couple hours of socializing we went back to our hotel.

Right now I'm still at the camp with the lovely teens and waiting for the floating shop that's late.

The bracelet that we needed to get in.

I've been working on some photos for a while, here are some! Enjoy!

Livet på lägret. DEL 1

Åsa a.k.a. KUNGEN!

Ida, en annan hjälpis här på lägret

Lekar i full action!

Essie 7.95 € från Douglas

Ny lackade naglar + sand = not a good combination

Solnedgången på Lekholmen
Ha en bra dag!
